"Computers Make Art" — the visual identity and teaching material I built for my master's research: a free, art-rooted introduction to blockchain, NFTs, and Web3, made for the people this field usually leaves out.
The visual system.
The palette of fluorescent pink, purple, lilac and lime yellow isn't just decorative, it's mine. It's the same chromatic language present in my own artwork, so bringing these colors into the project is a natural extension of my identity. Beyond that personal signature, it gave the project a distinct visual identity and let me approach technology with artistic sensibility and a social lens, moving away from the cold, usual aesthetic of the crypto world.
Teaching, designed.
I wanted something organic and full of movement, expressive and impossible to ignore. I brought in fluid shapes, hand-drawn lettering, generous spacing and playful infographics that turn complex ideas into something people can absorb easily. The design is part of the pedagogy, not just packaging for it.

The seed-phrase notebook
Editorial · Handmade · ProductI created a handmade notebook to gather seed phrases in one place. People usually write these phrases down anywhere, often on loose scraps of paper. Hardware wallets come with a small sheet, but almost no one has an organized physical spot dedicated to all their wallets. I first made it for the students I worked with during my master's. Today I also make them as gifts for people I meet at in-person events. Turning something abstract and intimidating into an object you can hold in your hands and find beautiful.

From page
to classroom.
I've always been involved with social movements and education. I was already running educational and community actions long before I entered the blockchain world. My research is the evolution of what I already did: using education as a tool for autonomy and care. Blockchain is the subject I'm immersed in right now, but my commitment to making knowledge accessible has always been the same.
Made with the community
Built alongside activist-educators Débora Aguiar and Manu Marques, the course paired blockchain fundamentals with lessons on decoloniality and financial education — and brought in trans, Black, and non-binary NFT artists to make the field feel close, not distant.
With academic guidance from João Marcelo Teixeira (master's advisor) and Leonardo Castillo (who invited Numa to teach Design para Web3 at UFPE), and the scientific-initiation students who researched alongside the project — Milena Gomes (Pedagogy), Vitória Farias (Design), and Artur Couto (Computer Science, in memoriam).
Design here is not decoration — it is mediation. A warmer, more organic language became the bridge between complex technology and the people it too often excludes.
